- International Court of Justice (ICJ) is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations (UN). It settles disputes between states and gives advisory opinions on international legal issues referred to it by the UN. The ICJ is the successor of the Permanent Court of International Justice (PCIJ), which was established by the League of Nations in 1920. The ICJ comprises a panel of 15 judges elected by the General Assembly and Security Council for nine-year terms. The court is seated in the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands
- prompt corrective action (PCA) is a framework under which banks with weak financial metrics are put under watch by the RBI. The RBI introduced the PCA framework in 2002 as a structured early-intervention mechanism for banks that become undercapitalized due to poor asset quality, or vulnerable due to loss of profitability. It aims to check the problem of Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) in the Indian banking sector.
