1.Department of integrative Medicine
- Recently, the Ministry of AVUSH and AllMS have decided to initiate work on setting up a Department of Integrative Medicine at AllMS.
- It is decided that CentreforIntegrative Medicine and Research (CIMRJ AllMS may develop an integrated protocol with Ayurveda and yoga for study on Post COVIDtreatment.
- This step shows progress towards the integration of traditional medicine with Modern Medicine.

- Based at the United Nations, Better Than Cash Alliance Is a partnership of over 75 governments, companies, and international organizations that accelerates the transition from cash to responsible digital payments to advance the Sustainable Development Goals.
- It is committed to digitizing payments In order to boost efficiency, transparency, women's economic participation, and financial inclusion.
- India became a member of this Alliance in 2015.
- Recently, India and better than Cash Alliance organized a joint Peer learning exchange on fintech solutions.

3.drdo successfully tests quantum key distribution (qkd) tech
- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DROO) successfully demonstrated communication between Its two labs using QKD technology.
- Quantum cryptography (or QKD) is a technology that uses quantum physics to secure the distribution of symmetric encryption keys.
- In QKO, encryption keys are sent as qubits in a fiber optic cable.
- Quantum computing uses qubits as basic resources, similar to how bits are used as basic resources in classical computing.
- Itenablestwo communicating sides to come up with random secret keys shared by both of them and known exclusively to them, so only they can use it to encrypt and decrypt messages.
- If an illegitimate entity tries to read the transmission, it will disturb the qubits -which are encoded on photons which will generate transmission errors, leading to legitimate end-users being immediately informed.
Significance:
- Ensure secure communications which are vital for defense and strategic agencies.
- Help define standards and formulate crypto technology-related policies that can use the QKD system.
- Enable start-ups and small and medium enterprises in the domain of quantum information technologies.

4.cabinet approves setting up of public wi-fl networks under 'pm-wani' across India
- Prime Minister WiFi Access Network Interface (PM- WANI) aims at setting up easily accessible public Wi-Fi hotspots spread across the country.
- It will allow businesses to offer wireless internet hotspot services and there would be no license fee for providing broadband intemet through these public Wi-Fi networks.

PM-WAN Ieco-system will be operated by different players:
- Public Data Office (PDO):It will establish, maintain, and operate only WANIcompliant Wi-Fi Access Points and deliver broadband services to subscribers.
- PDO Aggregator (PDOA): It will be an aggregator of PDOs and perform the functions relating to Authorization and Accounting.
- App Provider: It will develop an App to register users and discover WANIcompliant Wi-Fi hotspots.
- Central Registry: It will be maintained by C-DoT and will maintain the details of App Providers,PDOAs,and PDOs.

8.Decentrilised nutrition governance
- Recently, Madhya Pradesh created community-centric Sahyogini Matru Samiti (SMS}I maternal associate committees to create a decentralized structureto monitor the implementation of integrated child development services (ICDS).
- SMS will have the authority to fix the accountability of service provider institutions at the local level.
- It is authorized to function as a vigilance committee and to conduct a social audit of nutrition and maternity entitlement programs.
- The move should give the way for efficacy in programmatic decentralization and be worthy of emulation by the rest of the states in the country.

9.Urban Governance Index(UGI)2020
- It was recently released by the Praja Foundation.
- UGI ranks states to indicate where they stand in terms of the real empowerment of grassroots democracy and local self-government.
- According to UGI, Odisha has topped all Indian states in urban governance while Manipur and Naga land are at the bottoms.
- The index showed that no state has devolved the 18 functions mentioned in the 12th Schedule (deals with Municipalities) of the Constitution to their city governments.
