1.Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI)
- Recently, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare addressed an event by CORI.
- CDRI is a multi-stakeholder global partnership of national governments, UN agencies and programs, multilateral development banks and financing mechanisms, private sector, and academic and knowledge institutions.
- It was announced by India's PM at UNClimate Action Summit 2019.
- It aims to promote the resilience of new and existing infrastructure systems to climate and disaster risks, thereby ensuring sustainable development.

2.Asian Development Bank(ADB) Project Readiness Financing (PRF)Facility
- ADB and India signed a $4.21 million PRF facility for infrastructure development projects to improve urban amenities and develop tourism infrastructure in Tripura.
- This is ADB's first PRF facility for a northeastern state.
- PRF document describes the smooth transition from preparation to implementation of the project to minimize contracting delays and speed up the initial disbursements.
- ADB is a regional development bank established in 1966 headquartered in Manila, Philippines. Top Shareholders:Japan (15.6%), USA (15.6%), China (6.4%), India (6.3%) and Australia (5.8%).

3.North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project (NERPSIP)
- Recently, Cabinet approved the revised cost estimate of NERPSIP.
- The scheme is implemented through POWERGRIO, a PSU under the Ministry of Power and is being funded with the assistance of the World Bank fund.
- The objective of NERPSIPis total economic development of the North Eastern Region (NER) and to strengthen
- Intra-State Transmission& Distribution InfrastructureIn NER.
- Beneficiarystates: Assam,Manipur,Meghalaya,Mizoram,Nagaland,andTripura.
- It will create a reliable power grid and improve NER States' connectivity to the upcoming load centers.

4.60 th Goa Liberation Day
- Goa Liberation Day is observed on December 19 every year and it marks the day Indian armed forces freed Goa in 1961 following 450 years of Portuguese rule.
- Portuguese colonized several parts of India in 1510 but by the end of the 19th-century Portuguese colonies in India were limited to Goa, Daman, Diu (liberated on December 1961) and Dadra, Nagar Haveli(liberated on August 2, 1954).

5.World Bank Corrects Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Ranking
- Recently, the World bank has corrected the 2018 and 2020 reports EODB ranking based on an internal audit following officials' allegations of"undue pressure by management to alter ratings.
- It has resulted in a change in the ranking of China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Azerbaijan.
- India's ranking (63rdin 2020), however, has remained unaffected.
- EODB is published by World Bank annually.
- Ease of doing business is an aggregate figure that includes different parameters that define the ease of doing business in a country.
