1.Regulator Sandbox(RS)
- RS usually refers to a system of live-testing new products or services in a controlled environment, for which regulators may or may not permit relaxations for the limited purpose of the testing.
- Benefits of such an approach: no need fora larger and more expensive roll-out, better management of risks, relaxations in regulatory and legal requirements etc.
- Recently, RBI relaxed regulatory norms for its RS initiative.
- Reducing net worth requirement to,1O lakh from 25 lakh earlier.
- Partnership firms and limited liability partnerships have been allowed to participate.

2.National Hydrology Project (NHP)
- Recently, the Ministry of Jal Shakti held a mid-term review of N HP.
- NHP was started in 2016 as a Central Sector Scheme for a period of 8years.
- The project aims at improving the extent, reliability, and accessibility of water resources information and to strengthen the capacity of targeted water resource management institutions in India.
- It has two groups of direct beneficiaries
- Central and state implementing agencies responsible for surface and/or groundwater planning and management.
- Users of water resource information system.

3.Financial Stability and development council(FSDC)
- Recently, FSOC discussed measures that could be taken in the next budget to accelerate growth while maintaining financial stability.
- It was set up in 2010 for strengthening and institutionalizing mechanism for:
- Maintaining financial stability,
- Enhancing inter-regulatory coordination and Promoting financial sector development.
- Chairman: Finance Minister
- Members: Minister of State, in charge of Department of Economic Affairs, Heads of all Financial Sector Regulators (RBI, SEBI, PFROA, IROAI, IBBI); Secretaries to various departments.

4.Bangladesh Sheikh Mujipur Rahman
- UN ESCO has decided to launch an international prize in the field of the creative economy in his name.
- He was the founding leader of Bangladesh and the country's first Prime Minister.

5.Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme(PMSSS)
- All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to re ease the installment of Rs. 20 000/- as maintenance allowance under PMSSS
- PMSSS was instituted in 2010 with the aim to build the capacity es of the youths of J&K and Ladakh by Educating, Enablingandempowering them to compete in the normal course.
- Components of scholarships: Academic fee and maintenance allowance
- The scheme is being implemented by the AICTE.

6.Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme(PMSSS)
- Located in Nizamuddin, Delhi was built by Rahim for his wife in 1598.
- Bulbous domes, canopies and arches, char bagh pattern, and use of Red sandstone and marble are important features.
- Rahim was one of the Navratnanas, a reputed military commander, and a poet in the court of emperor Akbar.
- He is known as the proponent of a secular all-embracing all-encompassing culture of inclusiveness.
- He wrote extensively in Braj, Sanskrit, Arabic, and Persian. He translated Babur's autobiography Baburnama from Turkish to Persian.

7.MHA highlights institutional mechanism for preventing and countering human trafficking at state level
- Human trafficking involves recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of persons, by means of threat or use of force or other forms of coercion/deception, for purpose of exploitation.
- Exploitation may include prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labor or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude, or removal of organs.
- Approximately a 16million women are victims of sex trafficking in India a year.
- Mechanisms to tackle human trafficking.

8.Institutional Mechanism
- Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had provided financial assistance to State Governments for setting up anti-human Trafficking Un ts (AHTUs).
- AHTUs are integrated task force(s) to prevent and combat trafficking in persons and comprise a group of trained
- sensitive officials of Police, Women and Child Welfare Department and other relevant departments of the State,
- While the Central Government has provided financial assistance for setting up physical infrastructure In these Units is the responsibility of States to depute suitable manpower to manage these Units,
- MHA has also released Rs.100 crores under Nirbhaya Fund to all States and UTs for setting up Women HeJp Desks in 10,000 Police Stations of States.
- These Women Help Desks shall also attend to all matters relating to human trafficking, Notifying State-level, District-level and Police Station-levelAntiHuman Trafficking Units by States and UTs.

9.Constitutional legislation Prevention
- The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 (ITPA) is the premier legislation for the prevention of trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation.
- Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013 provides for comprehensive measures to counter the menace of human trafficking including the trafficking of children.
- Protection of Children from S11xual offenses (POCSO) Act,2012
- Other specific legislation such as Prohibition of Child Marriage Act,2006, Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act,1976.

10.International Conversation
- India has ratified the United Nations Convention on Transnational Organised Crime which has as one of its Protocols Prevention, Suppression and Pu nishmentofTrafficking in Persons, particularly Women and Children.
- India has ratified the SAARC Convention on Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Women and Children for Prostitution.
