d. Law declared by the Supreme court is binding on all courts within the territory of India
Answer: A
- Article 129 -The Supreme Court shall be a court of record and shall have all the powers of such a court including the power to punish for contempt of itself.
- Article 144 of the Indian Constitution advises civil and judicial authorities to act in aid of the Supreme Court. Hence article 129 alone is valid in the first option, not article 144.
- Article 143 of the Indian Constitution empowered the Supreme Court with advisory jurisdiction. As per this, even the President can seek Supreme Court's advice over any issue of law or public importance. The Supreme Court is not bound to give its opinion. Rather, the Supreme Court may decline to give its opinion under Article 143 in cases it does not consider proper or not amenable to such exercise.
- The law declared by the Supreme Court shall be binding on all courts within the territory of India.
- Article 141: It stated that the Supreme Court's decisions were binding on all courts in India.
